Note:
The weather for Saturday is looking cool and windy. We will still be out there but we know those conditions might be uncomfortable for some. That is OK.

Trail Descriptions

Water in the desert? Our first adaptive hiking event of 2022 will be at Clark County Wetlands Park Nature Preserve on Saturday, March 5 beginning at 11 am. The flat, paved trails there will be a get-to-know-you hike/roll for our initial community event. This will be the first day of a temporary art exhibit with art pieces, made of recycled and earth-friendly materials, placed in areas between trails.

Bring your own adaptive mobility equipment and any support people who know your needs. The event will last 2-3 hours if someone explores all of the trails to different habitats, and trails to the bridge over the Las Vegas Wash and beyond. Unfortunately, pets and picnicking are not allowed in the nature preserve.

Volunteers will be at major trail intersections to provide directions and we will provide maps.

Meet at the trailhead across the parking lot from the entrance to the main building. There are flush toilets at the trailhead but there are nicer ones up the long ramp to the main building. Restrooms are outside, across from the entrance to the auditorium.

Location The main entrance to Wetlands Park is at the east end of East Tropicana Avenue where it curves to become S. Broadbent Blvd.  In the curve take East Wetlands Park Lane eastward and go to its end at the parking lot. Our location will be on the left side of this large lot. Note: This is not the parking lot for the trails at Duck Creek, on S. Broadbent Blvd.

We are glad to share this event with the Las Vegas adaptive hiking community. Please register so we will know how many people to expect.
