Chesser Island Boardwalk, Okefenokee Wildlife
Refuge, Georgia. Managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Length: 1.5 miles out and back Width: 8 ft. Surface type: Boardwalk Maximum grade: 1% Accessible features nearby: Observation tower at the end of the boardwalk and viewing areas along the way with shaded stops. Description: The boardwalk takes you right into the marsh so you get an up close and personal experience of what the marsh is all about. We saw flowers, a raccoon, anoles, and of course the marsh birds. It was a wonderful way to get out into the heart of a marsh.
