Our Mission:
To create more meaningful access to nature for people with disabilities

To facilitate this mission our strategy is to:

Educate

Build awareness among land managers and the public that those with physical or intellectual disabilities and their families want to experience special outdoor places as much as anyone else.
·Provide trail assessments to the public through the Trail Access Project website.

Partner
Partner with land managers to find the low-hanging fruit: existing trails that could easily become more "accessible" with relatively minor modifications.
Assess current “accessible” trails and make recommendations for improvements for increased access, safety, and visitor experience.
Train park personnel about the needs and requirements for making trails more easily navigable.

Collect data
Assessments will be based on our measured physical and geospatial trail data collected in the field and compared with recent United States Access Board guidelines.  Data will be provided to park and land managers to support data-driven decisions.

Build a community
Build a community of outdoor explorers and their friends to exchange information and enjoy planned events.

Raise funding
Raise funding for targeted trail projects in prioritized areas as designated by park management.

Goal: Meaningful access for all!
